Lucas is a talented 3-year old Friesian gelding, with
gorgeous hair and a breath-taking way of moving. He is
an impressive mover in all 3 gaits, and shows an
especially nice uphill, smooth canter which is a must for
the dressage enthusiast. He is at about Training level
dressage, and progressing well in his training. This
beautiful gelding will make a great impression at
dressage shows, and we believe he has the talent and
elasticity to go to upper and FEI levels with continued
training. He has what it takes to become a dressage
champion. Lucas has a recent vet report and a full set of
clean X-rays (Nov 2005). He measures about 16h.
Lucas has been in professional dressage training. We
can arrange for further training and show experience if
you like.
Lucas’ pedigree shows all the famous names known in
the Friesian breed. Sire is Tsjerk, the stallion who
stamps his offspring with gorgeous type and refined
heads, and is wellknown for the very high percentage of
Ster mares he produces. He is one of the most popular
Friesian stallions.
Then Lucas’ dam, a Ster mare by legendary Oege
Preferent, the ultimate producer of hair. Lucas clearly
got his genes, with his thick feathers and tail.
Grandmother is Tina Ster Preferent, by another legend,
the stallion Hearke Preferent. Following in this mare line
are Berlinde Model Preferent and Tina Model Preferent.
This beautiful gelding stems from one of the oldest mare
lines, Stam 2. He shows a full pedigree. Lucas is closely
related to the FPS stallion Oeds (their dams are full
sisters). Mare line 2 has produced numerous approved
stallions, including the world famous stallion Oege
(Preferent). This mare line has produced a high number
of champions, including the 2002 National Champion
Mare (the Sape filly Ineke) and the 2002 Model mare
Nanna.
Lucas will make a great horse for the serious dressage
rider, who wants a horse that blows the judges away,
and is a joy to ride at home as well as at shows. He is
currently in training in the Netherlands. Old Corner
