Horse Description

Clay is one of the last grandsons of the Arabian stallion Serafix. His sire is pure Arabian and the Dam is a feisty Arabian/Pinto mix (photos and registration information for both available from me and/or the internet) . He has balanced conformation, strong bones, tough hooves, and a deep chest (a little more heft than most Arabians). He is not currently in top condition but is at a healthy weight and has plenty of stamina. He has lots of potential as a pleasure or ranch horse, but was bred to go the distance. He is excellent on the trails as a leader or follower. He loads, ties, accepts the bit, stands for the farrier, and has nice ground manners. I lunge him regularly, and he walks, trots, canters, reverses, and stops from voice commands. He neck-reins and has been ridden both English and Western. The closest thing to a vice: He is strong willed and will go his own way if you let him. He is smart and a good mover and picks up fast but is inconsistent in performing when he gets bored. He is tough and competitive, but smart enough to take the easier way around something if given the choice. I bought Clay 4 Â½ years ago in hopes of doing some serious trail rides and endurance events in Missouri. He was ridden by a trainer in Navoo, IL during the summer of 2003 and worked up to 30 miles every other day cross country and along the highways. As my career, relocations, knee surgery and age have come into play, I have not done him justice. He has not been ridden in any competitions, only regular short sessions, so he has become bored. Clay is not for a beginner or a pushover, but those who have ridden him really like him. I am selling him because I no longer can ride him regularly. Please email me for more photos or information.
