"Whiskey" is one of my personal horses that I was
planning on keeping for a long, long time. I had plans of
finishing her myself, but school and work have finally
impeded. If I can find her a great home with someone
who wants to do more with her, then Im willing to let her
go. If not, she'll be with me for quite some time because
shes really a head-turning mare with an attitude Im
willing to deal with! (and I usually hate mares!)

Okay, so on the off-chance I might find someone who
can do more with her sooner than I can...

Whiskey is definitely 15.1 hands tall, shes built like a
dream, with a broad barrel and a full quarterhorse butt
and back, but a shapely flank that ties in high to her
stifle. She has a friendly expression and a broad
forehead with wideset eyes. Her face is a bright ruby
red, her mane, tail, and legs are solid black, and her
body is nearly completely roaned out. She has one
brand on her right hip, a squigly arrow (that looks
REALLY cool when she trots by!). When prancing across
her pasture, she lifts her tail, tucks her head, and
literally FLOATS. Im trying very very very hard to get
her to do that while Im on her back, but she was trained
western pleasure (walk/trot) and so tends to be a little
lazy when someones in the saddle. She has a great
headset for western riding, but like I said, has
overwhelming potential for English
(jumping/equitation/pleasure). Shes safe on the trails
and indeed, will even swim across the lake if asked.
Everyone loves her here at the barn! We ride her in a
simple tom thumb, but even an O ring will work fine.
Shes very sensitive to leg pressure and weight
distribution, so I wouldnt recommend her for a beginner
child whos just learning how to ride as they generally
arent fully in control of their balance even when
performing simple tasks and might confuse her. As for a
more advanced child or beginning adult through
advanced, she'd be great. Shes definitely willing to learn
right along with you (I normally would never
recommend that, but shes got the personality to handle
it). Shes safe and more than sane. She likes to be
around people, and indeed turns around to nuzzle you
when shes tied (I try to discourage that, but sometimes
its too cute to ignore). Shes good for the farrier and will
stand tied for days (not that Ive ever asked her to).
We've most recently been working with ground tying,
and shes coming along great! She lunges on and off a
line, and loves the trails! We've been working on
cantering comfortable circles, and shes coming along
wonderfully with that too (though I can tell she tends to
prefer the trails and the laid back trips out of the barn).
She also loads and bathes extremely well, and is the
easiest keeper I have.

Like Ive said, Im not terribly excited to see her go, but
Im trying to buy a house and I dont have much time for
the horses anymore (as well as the funds). Come on out
and ride Whiskey and let me know what you think! She
also has a pedigree to die for, including Joe Hancock,
Driftwood, and Poco Bueno. I can also pretty much
guarentee that she'll throw a blue roan (one of my initial
goals with her)!!!
