Horse Description
Artist is a 2001 gold overo. He is negative for the OLW
gene and should be a high overo producer (according to
an APHA study due to his loud sabino expression). Artist
is a foundation build and has very thick muscling. His hip
is massive, ties in low and is wide. He is built for cow
work and his foals will do well in the arena. Being
champagne and due to the sabino roaning in his coat. In
full sunlight he just shins and shimmers. Really the only
reason he is listed for sale is that he is too closely
related to most of my APHA mares. I did one DNA color
and was told that he also has a cream gene. I asked for
the test to be repeated just to be sure but haven't heard
back yet. If he is a gold cream, Artist will sire 75%
dilutes (cream and champagne). I am cutting back to
have more time to work with the colts. He will get you to
the top in a champagne breeding program. I still get
inquires all over the US and Europe about my
champagnes. In fact I am only down to just a few left to
offer for sale. His sire is from proven roping and ranch
lines. His dam is from the APHA leading breeders, Helms
Farms. He has the Great ALL AROUND and leading sire,
