Horse Description
Takara is a chestnut arabian gelding that is looking for a new trail partner to call his own, as his previous owner is preparing for college. In the past he was primarily used as a trail horse. He can ride english or western, in a hackamore, rope halter, or bridle. Takara is sensitive to cues and therefore he does not require a harsh bit. As of now we use a D-ring snaffle or rope halter with him. The ad has him as 15hh (closest choice) but he is actually a little over 14.3 1/2. Also, he is registered but the papers that we have are not in our name. Takara is good with the vet and farrier. He is ok with baths and fly spray too. He is exceptionally good at picking up his feet when asked. Unfortunately he has not been ridden consistently in over a year. I would recommend at least an intermediate rider until he has been brought back into a normal schedule. (He used to give private beginner lessons to a young girl.) Takara is a wonderfully curious, intelligent, handsome horse, but I am going to college next fall and I want to give him enough time to find a good home.
