Horse Description
Genetic Perfection (LpLp and EEaa): Caille de Pere (pronounced Kai du pair), which is Cajun French for "Father of Spots", is the ideal stallion prospect (ApHC# 653229, foaled 5-24-07). He is a Few-spot Appaloosa, with strong leopard ancestry, that is confirmed Homozygous for the Black color gene. He will be a 100% color producer and cannot produce a red foal. He is 100% Appaloosa and is Foundation (FPD and FAHR) eligible. He has Sundance F500, Coyotes Apache and Patchy in his pedigree. So, he is also Sundance and Colorado Ranger Horse eligible. He is being raised with a veterinarian guided health program, maximizing nutrition, worming and vaccination. Because he will be sold as a stallion prospect he has been vaccinated against EVA (equine viral arteritis, which can cause abortion). He was partially imprinted at birth, and is being ground trained by Clinton Anderson's methods. He has progressed well with ground training, ties easily and stands well for the farrier. He has been easily desensitized to clippers and other stimuli. He has a very agreeable and calm personality, and is eager to learn. As his name implies, this stallion will likely produce 100% spotted foals regardless of the color of the mare. He is the perfect stallion prospect for any serious Appaloosa breeding program.
