Thoroughbred Gelding for Sale in Oregon - Fionn

Horse Description

Very nice gelding with smooth balanced movement. Was trained in dressage and started over jumps. He has the potential to be a high level event horse for a serious rider with time and skill. I ride him on the trail where we trot and canter up and down hills, jump logs and jump in and out of water with no hesitation. I also use him to pony my other horse. He is only for sale to an experienced english rider. I want to sell him with my other thoroughbred together if possible as they have been together for years. I ride Fionn with a thick loose ring german snaffle and he responds well. He is quiet and has a trot you can sit and very slow balanced canter. My horses are kept in a large paddock and pasture with a large shelter, are fed 3 times a day on grass hay and have never been stalled. They have good hooves and are kept barefoot. I ride Fionn frequently and usually pony my other thoroughbred William. William is green broke but did a lot of harness work. He dragged poles and was ready to be carted but I never bought one. I have only been on him a couple of times but he did well on the trail. His movement is spectacular. He collects easily and extends beautifully. He has the behavior of a dog and has worked with me in the wildlife field. I will explain further to interested parties. Fionn does not spook and is laid back. He will trot and canter and then go back to a calm walk. I would like them to go to an english rider that mostly rides trail as that is what these horses enjoy. I haven't rode Fionn in an arena more than a few times but he does side pass, back and will turn a pirouette. He stands quiet and will manuever himself to open gates. He is a large, well muscled good looking horse with intelligence. He has never been injured. His new home will be someone who treats horses with kindness and respect and has enough experience to not be fearful of horses. Fionn is easy to ride but that is because he has always been handled quietly with skill. These horses will not be sold to a home that will stall them. They are quiet and easy to handle because they are kept and treated as naturally as possible and are given a lot of time and exercise. Both horses also lunge free and respond to walk, trot, canter, whoa and reverse. I will only sell them to a permanent home and a contract will be signed that they must be offered to me first if resold.
