Harlie is a gorgeous and spunky Racking horse gelding.
I have not yet expierenced an actual "rack" from him,
but it is his breed. He changes from dark bay to silvery
bay from winter to summer, so we're not sure what
color to call him! He has a very hard childhood, from
abusive owners to pure neglect and starvation. When I
(16 year old owner) first encountered him he wouldn't
allow anyone NEAR him. Within a day of being with him
I was like his mother. He would trot to me so I could pat
him and brush him. This was two years ago. He was
ridden hard as a frail yearling, his ears were yanked
and tugged to get a bridle on, he was tied to a pole to
be saddled, and he was whipped numerous times. So,
he is now very skittish and timid around new things, but
he isn't dangerous or stupid. He is actually a very smart
horse; he's learning a few harmless tricks like shaking
hands etc. He rides well in a light western saddle,
mostly walking. He neck reins, goes and stops from
voice command, lunges like a pro both ways, trots poles
in hand, has EXCELLENT ground manners on a halter
and lead. Bathes (LOVES it), loads, stands for vet &
farrier, good with people, loves playing with the cats
and dogs. He loves attention and treats! He definitely
needs someone with experience and time to finish him
off. I've brought him as far as my knowledge and
facilities and time will allow me, but he deserves better.
Approved home only. He will probably do better without
other male horses around. He was gelded late, so the
stallion spirit is a part of him now. He is NOT a
dangerous horse with the right horse person. Please
