This mare traces back to Negem, Sahanad, and Fadl!
Names like Negem 1956, Serra 1956, and El Reata Faraf
1968 are on her papers!
This horse has been my pride and joy for many years.
When I worked as a trail guide in Holmes County Ohio,
she was my main mount. She led and followed several
trails a day and was calm and steady. If I needed to
switch horses with one of tha campers, it was never and
issue with her, she was calm and steady no matter who
rode her. I used her at that ranch to drag hoses and
carry things from one pasture to the next, to ride fence,
push cows (Mostly small jersey calves) She was often
ridden more than five hours in a day (I now ride her
about once or twice a week) and she never went lame,
or had any other soundness problems. I have also
guided trails through hocking hills ohio with her, and
ridden through the Daughty Valley here in Holmes
county many times. She has been ridden as many as
ten hours in a day and would have kept going if I could
have=). She has been ridden on the road, and is traffic
safe
I have kept her current on all of her vaccinations and
deworming, and her feet are regularly trimmed. She
stands wonderfully for the farrier and loads easily. I
have never clipped her, but I am sure she would be fine
with a patient and calm hand. She can be spunky (like
most arabs I am sure) but she has never put me in
harm's way whether working with her on the Ground or
on her back. She is one of those horses that will go
anywhere you want her to, I have ridden her into
buildings, or through thick underbrush, if I say lets go
here, she just does it.
She neck reins very well, flexes, sidepasses, works off
of your leg, backs easily, picks up both leads. She
knows her stuff, and is very easy to teach. I have
ridden her in fun shows, and she is the horse that runs
her heart out for you, and then walks off calmly as
everyone else's horse is acting up. She has done the
barrel pattern a few times, and is pretty fast. I think
with just a few more runs, she could take someone to
the top. This horse has been ridden by people of all
ages and types of experience, and each person has had
a great time. It breaks my heart to sell this horse, but I
need her to go to someone who will appreciate her for
the spectacular animal that she is.
I think she would make a wonderful lesson horse for a
barn looking for a versital mount, or a great endurance
mount. she has the foundation to make it in any
discipline. She has been a joy for me for just the
occassional ride, and she has also been calm enough for
me to lead my one year old son around on her back.
There is nothing I have tried with this horse that she
couldn't do!
