| Horse Description |
|
Percy is an off the track TB Mare who has excelled in
her second life as a Dressage horse and Hunter/Jumper.
She has competed to level 2 Dressage, and to 3'3"
Jumpers and 3' Hunters. She is a beautiful bay mare
who is also a wonderful broodmare with wonderful
racehorse bloodlines with Personal Flag as a sire and
Tee Tantrum by Text as dam. She has produced a
beautiful 1/2 Andalusion colt.
Percy is currently doing lessons and smaller jumping
with emphasis on hunter flat work. Earlier this year, we
did the Colorado Horse Park show in Baby Greens and
Long Stirrups placing very well. We have been schooling
3' at home.
Percy is a beautiful mover who just glides over jumps
and really pays attention to detail in dressage. She is a
workaholic, and always works very hard in the ring. She
has a big, flowing stride and covers jumps well, always
getting to the distance. Her future in Dressage is
deffinantly unlimitated if someone will put the effort in
her. She can double in dressage and jumping and can
do cross country with a strong confident rider. I have
mostly done hunters because of her beautiful movement
and she tends to be more sane in the ring but will do
anything to please her rider outside of it also.
As I have said, she has been successful on the A circuit
and local circuit. Because of her past, (track) I've tried
to take it easy on her showing wise, but with shoes and
good care, she can still show. She is a little jittery at the
show but calms down in her stall, on the lunge line, and
in the ring.
Percy is a very sound horse, and has never been lame
due to joint or bone issues, but has recently recovered
from a hoof lameness by breaking off her hoof wall. It
was minor and now with shoes, she is back to normal.
She recently had a utereus biopsy and turned up 11A,
or mild to moderate bacteria. She is still good to breed
and ride and show, and probably will still be for years, if
she has a good home, regular excersize on good
footing, a turnout schedule, and weight watching. She
has no bad habits or vices except for getting moody
when in heat but don't all mares? She loads well and
travels well, and is truely wonderful. It hurts me to see
her go but I just don't have time do to high school and I
want her to be of use to someone and have a good
home. She still has many years left in her, and her price
is negotiable to a good home. More pictures and a video
can be provided.
