this is my sisters horse lumy. he is a registered paso
fino, so he has papers. my sister is getting rid of him
because she has back problems, and hasnt been able to
ride him in a long time. she is looking to sell him for
about $6000, or close to that. but if we can find
someone to lease him, he
could stay. i have grown very attached to this horse,
and wouldnt like to see him go, and have been told that
if i can find someone to lease him, i can make payments
on him to buy him. and once i buy him, i will still lease
him out, for the same price. and the only terms for the
lease would be to pay for
board, which is $300, farrier, which is about $60 every 7
weeks, and his vet bills, which are usually just shots
since he is a very hardy little fella.
he has a get up and go attitude, but can revert to a lazy,
sleepin horse in no time. when my sister first got him,
he was a trail horse, so she has taught him just about
everything he knows, from dressage, which he has alot
of potential in, to western pleasure. yes, he trots, but he
knows the difference between the gait and trot que. he
does barrels, jumps, has done trails in the mountains,
and is extremely good in trail classes. very well trained,
but he needs an experienced rider. if you confuse him
while asking him to do something, he gets fidgetty,
which makes lots of people nervous. and when your on
him, and your nervous, he gets nervous, so you can see
where this can lead to problems. i have never had any
trouble riding him. you can ride him in a snaffle, or a
halter and leadrope, or with nothing on at all. has done
drill team competitions, and carrys flags. he is a
sweet heart, and loves attention. hes a little pudgy,
mostly from not being ridden, and his mane is short, but
it is growing. he had a bad fungus that was on his mane
and tail, and he ended up ripping out most of his mane,
so to keep it from getting worse, we sheared his mane
off.
it is growing back nicely, and is about 6 inches long.
once it grows out, he'll look much better. ill post some of
his old, as well as more recent pictures so you can see
the difference. he clips everywhere except for his ears,
which are very sensitive, bathes, ties, loads, is a perfect
gentleman for the farrier, and for the vet.
