| Horse Description |

Contradiction (Calvin) is a 7
YO 16.3 hand Trakehner/TB
cross. He has evented through
Novice and shown in dressage,
hunter and jumper shows. He is
still somewhat green but does
FANTASTIC being ridden 3-4
times a week or more. He's
very smart and picks up things
quickly and has a great work
ethic. Unfortunately I'm in
graduate school and only have
time to ride him once or twice
a week at most. While he still
behaves on this kind of
schedule, it leaves him a bit
too fresh to really focus and
advance. He has schooled
through 3rd level movements
with me and learned flying
changes in 2 days ( hurray!).
He's also done 3'6" courses
with me, and up to 3'9"
gymnastics. He's very athletic
and never has to try.
He clips, bathes, stands
for the vet and farrier, is up
to date on shots and worming.
Cross ties, lounges and gets
in the trailer easy. May need
some grain if in heavy work to
keep weight, but has been fine
with me on just good quality
hay and pasture. Sound and
healthy. Has never had a
health issue. He got stuck in
a fence when he was 18 months
old and has some scar tissue
on his croup and hind leg, but
it doesn't bother him in the
slightest and you wouldn't
notice it unless you looked
for it.
He may be a bit too green
for a very beginner, but would
be awesome for a Novice rider
that wants a safe but green
horse to put some training on.
He was the first horse I owned
that wasn't a 'plodder' and
he's taught me a lot and has
covered for so many of my
mistakes. I've ridden him
along and in a group on
trails, in a large hay field
away from the barn, in
indoors, outdoors, pastures,
in front of mirrors, ect. We
haven't had the opportunity to
get off property as much as
I'd like, so he can still be a
little nervous in new places,
but he gets over it quickly
and is then all business.
A note, he's also bigger than
he looks! I'm 6' tall, so I
make him look a little small!
$6500 OBO and I'm open to him
going on a local trial.
