Horse Description
Cedar is a 17 yr old mare with lots of spunk. She will go anywhere you point her, work cows, do obstacles and was raced in her younger years. She's great leading off trail rides, riding out alone or with others. She does like to be the leader! She is not for beginners, which is the only reason we are offering her for sale, she's just too much horse for my beginner riders. No buck, just when you get on her she wants to get going immediately. She would be a blast for a teenager or mountain riding as that is what she was used for the last several years. I like to ride her myself as I like to go for what I call "therapy gallops." I've chased the neighbors cows with her, taken her through creeks and heavy brush and she really will go anywhere you tell her to and is not spooky. Loads great, excellent for farrier/vet, friendly, likes treats! Not "marish" or kicky, excellent around other horses or being left alone. Cedar loves to go when asked, but is very easy to keep at a lope or trot, she's not fighting to take off with her rider at all. She's a very nice horse, just a little too much horse for our beginners. Up to date on shots and worming, last coggins and health cert. in May and June of 09. Loads and unloads fine, but cannot be locked into the front of a slant in a slant load trailer, put in rear or open trailer is fine. Easy to handle, no bite, kick, not a cribber, stands tied and easy to catch.
