Texas Pete is a stout-built 15.1h gelding with enough height and stock to him that he can easily carry a large adult, however, he is safe enough for even a child rider who knows the basics of riding! He is an incredible family trail horse, beautiful and friendly. This guy is one solid trail mount...goes where you point his nose...always safe and always reliable. He is NOT spooky. "Pete" is not a fancy arena or show-trained horse, but he is a very well broke, honest, and outstanding rough-country trail horse. That does not mean he is not a handsome horse, though - just look at him - he is absolutely gorgeous! This Mahogany Bay and White gelding is built like a tank, yet still elegant and refined! He carries himself like a bold champion and he will certainly NOT blend in with a crowd! Everyone who meets him, loves him! This handsome and fun, 8yo, gelding will ride with a group or all by himself - equally confident in any situation, never refusing what is asked of him. His willing nature is probably what I like best about him - what more could you want than a loyal trail horse that is willing to do what you ask - every time - without exception! Just watch him in his video - nothing was "rehearsed" - including the "rock scene" or the "taking off the coat scene" - he is patient and willing - ALL the time! When you watch him in his video, you will see that he is even "waterproof" - LOL! He has excellent manners on the ground as well as under saddle. He is extremely athletic with plenty of stamina and has miles and miles of trail experience. He has been ridden by riders of all abilities and thru all types of terrain, from the coast to the mountains. He has carried his riders safely through water, over mountains, up and down steep and dangerous trails, and always uses his head. As you will see in his video, he is surefooted in any kind of terrain and he has navigated through some pretty rough stuff! He is easy to ride, content to walk slowly all day if you like, or will easily step out and move along with a smooth saddle gait and he also has a very soft, easy canter for an added bonus! He loads and hauls easily in any type of a trailer, stands well for the vet and farrier and is sound and current on all health care.
